USA announce squad for T20 World Cup 2026

This will be the USA's second T20 World Cup appearance, having earned a direct qualification on the back of an impressive Super 8 stage finish back in the 2024 edition, which included a win over Pakistan.

Washington [US], January 30 (ANI): Monank Patel will be leading the USA squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, with 10 key players from team's debut campaign back in 2024 also a part of the squad.
This will be the USA's second T20 World Cup appearance, having earned a direct qualification on the back of an impressive Super 8 stage finish back in the 2024 edition, which included a win over Pakistan.
Apart from skipper Patel, Jessy Singh, Andries Gous, Milind Kumar, Shayan Jahangir, Harmeet Singh, Nosthush Kenjige, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Saurabh Nethravalkar and Ali Khan are the players who will be featuring in this edition as well, as per ICC. The presence of Harmeet, Milind and Saurabh, who have played age-group/state cricket in India, will give the USA some advantage.
Wicketkeeper-batter Gous was the top run-getter for USA in the 2024 edition with 219 runs in six innings at an average of 43.80, with two fifties and a strike rate of above 151, while Netravaklar picked up a six wickets for USA at an average of 20.83, topping the wicket-taking charts for the team.
Shubham Ranjane could make his T20I debut at the marquee ICC event, while Mohammad Mohsin and Shehan Jayasuriya could earn their first international caps for the USA. Pune-born Shubham has played four ODIs for the USA and recently had six outings for the Johannesburg Super Kings (JSK) in the SA20 in South Africa, scoring 101 runs in five innings, including a half-century.
The USA will face India, Pakistan, the Netherlands and Namibia during the group stage, placed in Group A. They begin their campaign against India on February 7 in Mumbai.
