Jitendra was speaking on the occasion of the luncheon felicitation of the players of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Team hosted by him at his residence, for their remarkable title win in the Ranji Trophy, describing their achievement as a reflection of the growing confidence and aspirations among the youth of the Union Territory, as per a press release from Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.

Aquib was among the players felicitated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, and MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh for their recent Ranji Trophy win, a landmark moment in J&K cricket as it marks their first-ever Ranji title win.

Rajesh's second win on the NexGen saw him bag the winning cheque worth Rs 3,17,875 that moved him into third position in the 2026 PGTI NexGen Order of Merit. Aditya Raj Singh Chahal, who finished joint runner-up alongside Pankaj Maandiya in Phillaur, now leads the NexGen Order of Merit with season's earnings of Rs 4,87,000.

The Jammu and Kashmir Ranji Trophy team players met the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman, Jay Shah, to acknowledge his role in strengthening cricket in the state during his tenure as the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India earlier.

Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Sahil Lotra expressed delight at the team's maiden Ranji Trophy title win as they defeated eight-time champions Karnataka in the final recently.
