Dubai [UAE], Mar 20 (ANI): Ahead of Australia's five-match one-day international series against Pakistan, Aussie spinner Adam Zampa says he is still trying to figure out his role in the ODI cricket.
"It is nice to make an impact, particularly in the middle overs. [I am] trying to figure out my role in ODI cricket. After that [India] series, I feel pretty confident about my role in the team," International Cricket Council quoted Zampa as saying.
Zampa who made his debut for Australia in the year 2016, was the second-highest wicket taker for the team in the recently concluded five-match ODI series against India after Pat Cummins. The spinner said that he does not take anything for granted.
"Throughout my short career, I have found that it can change really quickly. I started my career really well, but I have had some ups and downs. I am trying to build on the momentum I have. It will be pretty great, but, honestly, I know what is it like to be in and out of the team and to be dropped from the squad altogether," Zampa said.
The 26-year-old has said that the team is wary of what Pakistan can do and they are not taking them lightly.
"Our confidence is high, but we have spoken about not taking Pakistan easy. They are one of the best teams in the world in white-ball cricket at the moment, It is important to us in our preparations for the World Cup. But it is also important to keep that momentum going. It is going to be a good series," Zampa said.
Australia are riding on a high after winning the five-match ODI series against India 3-2 and the team would be hoping to continue their winning run in the upcoming series against Pakistan.
