Squads announced for Women's T20 Challenge

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Apr 25 (ANI): Indian women cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj will lead Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity respectively, in the upcoming Women's T20 Challenge to be played between May 6 and 11 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], Apr 25 (ANI): Indian women cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj will lead Supernovas, Trailblazers and Velocity respectively, in the upcoming Women’s T20 Challenge to be played between May 6 and 11 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Present and future stars will be joined by international players from England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in a four-match tri-series, a statement issued on Thursday said.
The Harmanpreet-led Supernovas, coached by Indian women’s coach WV Raman, will see England's Natalie Sciver, New Zealand’s Lea Tahuhu, Sophie Devine and Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu.
West Indies’ Shakera Selman and Stafanie Taylor, England’s Sophie Ecclestone and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates will feature in Smriti Mandhana-led Trailblazers. Biju George will coach the team.
Celebrated and veteran cricketer Mithali Raj will lead the newly-formed Velocity and the team will be coached by Mamta Maben. New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr, England’s Danielle Wyatt, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, and Bangladesh’s Jahanara Alam have been named in the team.

Trailblazers: Smriti Mandhana (c), Bharti Fulmali, Dayalan Hemalatha, Deepti Sharma, Harleen Deol, Jasia Akhtar, Jhulan Goswami, R. Kalpana (wk), Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shakera Selman, Sophie Ecclestone, Stafanie Taylor, Suzie Bates
Velocity: Mithali Raj (c), Amelia Kerr, Danielle Wyatt, Devika Vaidya, Ekta Bisht, Hayley Matthews, Jahanara Alam, Komal Zhanzad, Shafali Verma, Shikha Pandey, Sushma Verma (wk), Sushree Dibyadarshini, Veda Krishnamurthy
Supernovas will take on Trailblazers on May 6, Trailblazers will play against Velocity on May 8 and Supernovas will meet Velocity on May 9. The final between the first and second placed teams will be held on May 11. (ANI)
