Sarfaraj Ahmed

Karachi [Pakistan], July 1 (ANI): Pakistan skipper Sarfaraj Ahmed has said that his side is looking to put up an impressive performance in the upcoming triangular T20I series against Zimbabwe and Australia.
Ranked as number one in the shortest format of the cricket, Pakistan will be pushed down if Australia won all their matches in the series. But the Pakistan captain emphasized that the team is not too concerned about the ranking.
"We are not too worried about the rankings as we are solely focused on winning the T20I triangular series. Although we always want to improve our rankings but our main objective is to play good cricket," The Express Tribune quoted Sarfaraj, as saying.
The 31-year-old underscored the importance of team combination and stated that one of the reasons behind Pakistan's success in T20 cricket is a better combination in the team.
"We have been performing well in T20 cricket for the past couple of years due to a good team combination arising from a blend of young and senior players," he said.
Speaking about the foreign conditions, the right-hand-batsman said that the toss is very crucial and would play an important role in determining the result.
Refusing to take the hosts Zimbabwe lightly, against whom they are going to play their opening fixture, the wicket-keeper batsman stated that Zimbabwe are a good side and could not be taken casually.
"First game is important as we kick-start our tour with it, which is why we want to put up a good show and win. Zimbabwe have some good players in their side so we are not taking them lightly," the skipper said.
On a related note, Pakistan will play a triangular series with Australia and Zimbabwe, which is slated to begin from July 1. (ANI)
