Prithvi Shaw to lead India in U-19 World Cup

Dubai [U.A.E], Dec 03 (ANI): Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw will lead a 16-member India U-19 cricket team at the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand from January 13 to February 3.

Prithvi Shaw to lead India in U-19 World Cup

Dubai [U.A.E], Dec 03 (ANI): Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw will lead a 16-member India U-19 cricket team at the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand from January 13 to February 3.

Team India are the joint-most successful team in the history of U-19 World Cup with Australia having won the title thrice.

In the last edition of the tournament held in Bangladesh in 2016, India lost in the final against West Indies.

The Indian team who are coached by former skipper Rahul Dravid will meet for a preparatory camp ahead of the grand tournament in Bengaluru from Dec 8-22.

While the rest of the team will be practicing for the event, Mumbai's Shaw and Bengal's Ishan Porel will be busy playing their respective Ranji Trophy sides for the quarterfinal stage and will join the camp on December 12.

The India U-19 squad is as follows:

Prithvi Shaw (c), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Manjot Kalra, Himanshu Rana, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Aryan Juyal (wicket-keeper), Harvik Desai (wicket-keeper), Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Ishan Porel, Arshdeep Singh, Anukul Roy, Shiva Singh and Pankaj Yadav. (ANI)
