No evidence found in Ashes corruption investigation

Dubai [U.A.E], Feb 8 (ANI): The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday confirmed that it concluded its investigation into allegations of fixing in the Ashes Test series and said no evidence was found to suggest any match was corrupted.

ICC General Manager - Anti-Corruption Alex Marshall said, "We have carried out an extensive global investigation with anti-corruption colleagues from Member countries based on the allegations in The Sun and the material they shared with us."

He added, "I am satisfied that there is no evidence to suggest any match has been corrupted by the individuals in the investigation nor is there any indication that any international players, administrators or coaches have been in contact with the alleged fixers."

Earlier, The Sun, a U.K. publication has alleged that a gang, who is working with an Australian called 'the Silent Man', has asked for up to £138,000 to influence the Ashes Test series between Australia and England, which the former won by 4-0. (ANI)
