Lucy Doolan

Dubai [UAE], Mar 15 (ANI): Former White Ferns all-rounder Lucy Doolan announced her retirement from all forms of cricket on Friday, putting a full stop to her cricketing career which lasted 14 years.
The 31-year-old made her last appearance in February 2013 for the White Ferns, but continued to play domestic cricket to represent Wellington Blaze. She made her club debut as a teenager back in 2004.
“The body doesn’t quite bounce back like it used to. And I think the plan was always to come back and play a couple more years after a few years off and then call it a day,” International Cricket Council (ICC) quoted Doolan as saying.
In international cricket, the all-rounder managed to score 868 runs and picked up 60 wickets in her 73 matches which consisted of 40 ODIs and 33 T20I. For Wellington Blaze, she has scored 3510 runs and 172 wickets under her hood and won three T20 titles.
“The support that I’ve had from Cricket Wellington as part of the Blaze is amazing," Doolan said. "They’ve probably spearheaded the support throughout the country in terms of backing women’s cricket, and I’ve seen that right from when I started playing cricket for Wellington as an 18-year-old,” she added.
