Justin Langer hoping to not get 'flat' wicket in Sydney

Melbourne [Australia], Jan 1 (ANI): Australian coach Justin Langer is hoping that his team would not get a "flat" track in Sydney like they did during India's tour match against Cricket Australia XI. The coach said that he would like to see a proper contest between bat and ball in the fourth and final Test of the ongoing series which will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
"We're interested to see what we're going to get in Sydney ... it's been a bit inconsistent. It was very flat (for India's tour game) and it was very flat in the Sheffield Shield game there a few weeks ago," Cricket.com.au quoted Langer, as saying.
"We certainly hope it's not (flat). You want to see a contest between bat and ball," he added.
Hinting towards his desire to get a bouncy track at the venue, the coach said, "All I'd say is all the years we've gone to India, we haven't had too many bouncy wickets, it usually spins square."
Pitch condition has been the talking point throughout the series especially after the International Cricket Council (ICC) rated the Perth Pitch, the venue for the second Test, as "average".
Many former players including Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and English cricketer Michael Vaughan had expressed their discontent with the decision of the global governing body.
India are currently leading the four-match series 2-1 and will be aiming to seal the deal while taking on Australia in Sydney for the final Test which is slated to be held from January 3 to 7. (ANI)
