London [U.K], June 5 (ANI): Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball has been called into the England ODI squad as a cover for injured Chris Woakes for the early part of the five-match series against Australia, beginning June 13 at The Oval.
Woakes bagged four wickets before he was forced to leave the field with tightness in his right quad at the end of the Pakistan's second innings during the drawn second Test of the two-match series against England.
He was subsequently ruled out of the one-off ODI against Scotland in Edinburgh on June 10 and will also remain unavailable for the first part of the Australian series.
With this, Woakes became the second player to be ruled out of the Scotland ODI first part of the five-match series against Australia after all-rounder Ben Stokes, who has been sidelined with a torn hamstring
The two players have already commenced their injury rehabilitation programmes and will be hoping to respond to treatment with the aim of featuring in the latter stages of the series.
Ball, 27, last played for England at the start of the year in Perth and was an integral member of the squad that defeated Australia 4-1 in the series Down Under.

Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali , Jonathan Bairstow,Jake Ball, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler, Tom Curran , Alex Hales,Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Mark Wood, David Willey, Ben Stokes ,Chris Woakes. (ANI)
