IPL 2021: SRH bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan undergoes angioplasty in Chennai

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced the schedule for the first phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, to be played from March 28 to April 12, 2026, according to a release.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday said that the delay in the return of several teams after the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka was caused by disruptions to international air travel resulting from the ongoing crisis in the Gulf region.

Sri Lanka have announced the appointment of Gary Kirsten as the new head coach of the national men's side. Former South African cricketer and renowned coach Kirsten will take on the role of Sri Lanka's national men's team head coach starting April 15.

The Afghanistan-Sri Lanka white-ball series, scheduled in the UAE from March 13-25, is likely to be postponed indefinitely due to escalating military conflict in West Asia.

Over the years, India and New Zealand have met five times in ICC events' knockout stages, with India winning twice and New Zealand winning three. However, in the past two knockout stage matches, India has emerged victorious, and this gives Team India a razor-sharp edge.
