IPL 2018: Kolkata Knight Riders defeats Delhi Daredevils by 71 runs

West Bengal (Kolkata) [India], April 17 (ANI): Kolkata Knight Riders defeated the Delhi Daredevils by 71 runs in the Indian Premier League match at Eden Gardens on Monday.

Chasing a target of 201 runs, the Delhi Daredevils started on a slippery note as it lost three wickets at the start of the chase.

Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana made a half-century followed by a thunderous display of batting by Andre Russell that allowed the team to score 200 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs.

Spinner Sunil Narine took 100th IPL wicket as he cleaned up Chris Morris.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell of the Delhi Daredevils stitched a partnership of 50 runs for the fourth wicket though as soon Pant got bowled out, the team witnessed a fall of wickets in quick succession.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have now moved up to the second spot in the points table. (ANI)
