India aim a clean sweep in last T20I against Lanka

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 24 (ANI): Having pocketed the three-match T20I series already, India will be looking to whitewash Sri Lanka in the final match, here at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Playing under zero pressure, India might consider giving a T20I debut to Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar or Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda and other young IPL candidates.

So far, the visitors have been kept silent on the batting front by the wrist-spinner duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

Stand-in-skipper Rohit Sharma has been enjoying a stupendous form in the series, having hit the fastest T20I century, 118, in Indore.

Young KL Rahul has also grabbed his opportunity at the top of the other with back-to-back half-centuries in the previous two matches.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will not be enjoying the services of Angelo Mathews, who has been ruled out of the final match due to a hamstring injury.

Danushka Gunathilaka or Dasun Shanaka is likely to be preferred as the replacement of the left-hander.

With the Wankhede quick outfield a fantasy of every batsman, the impeccable Indian top-order will aim to amass another big score for the side.

Sri Lanka were handed the heaviest 93-run defeat in the series opener in Cuttack and equalled their longest losing streak (having lost seven-in-a-row) in T20Is with their 88-run loss in Indore.

Prior to the T20I series, India had thrashed the Lankan Lions in the Test and ODI series.

This will be India's last game of the year and last game of the season before embarking on the tour of South Africa, which is to begin with Test series from January 5.

India (probable): Rohit Sharma (c), KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav/Washington Sundar, Jaydev Unadkat/Basil Thampi, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Sri Lanka (probable): Upul Tharanga, Niroshan Dickwella(wk), Kusal Perera, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Thisara Perera, Asela Gunaratne, Dasun Shanaka/Vishwa Fernando, Akila Dananjaya, Chaturanga de Silva/Sachith Pathirana, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Pradeep .(ANI)
