Melbourne [Australia], Nov 19 (ANI): A large number of fans is expected to turn up for the upcoming three-match T20I series between India and Australia with more than 1,00,000 tickets already been sold.
For the first T20, which will be held in Brisbane on November 21, around 30,000 people are expected to be present; while for the second match at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the figure is likely to be around 70,000, Cricket.com.au reported.
For the third and final T20I, over 35,000 cricket enthusiasts are likely to be present for the game.
At MCG, the highest-ever crowd figures stood at 84,041. This happened ten years ago during a match between India and Australia. It was the only time when more than 65,000 fans had attended a T20I in Australia.
The record crowd figure for a single T20 international series stands at 138, 059. The number was achieved when India toured Australia three seasons ago. Keeping in sight the projected crowd number, the upcoming T20 series is likely to surpass the record figure.
India and Australia are slated to play three T20 internationals from November 21 to 25 followed by four Test matches, and three one-day internationals. (ANI)
