Melbourne [Australia] Sep 4 (ANI): Former Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) chairman Lachlan Henderson has been appointed as a member of the country's cricket board.
Henderson has replaced Bob Every, who resigned from the position in May, this year.
Reflecting on his appointment, Henderson said that he is excited about the job and is looking forward to continue improving and strengthening the game.
"While the recent challenges have been well publicised, cricket is in a very strong position in Australia with record participants and new broadcast partners. I am excited about the role I can play to better the connection with the sport and its fans and look forward to working with fellow Directors to continue to improve and strengthen the position of the game," cricket.com.au quoted Henderson, as saying.
Welcoming the new member in the board, Cricket Australia (CA) chairman David Peever said that they are privileged to have him in the association while also expressing confidence that his knowledge about cricket would help to take the game to newer heights.
"We are privileged to welcome Lachlan back into the cricket fold, and confident that he will add an exceptional skill set on the Board. His knowledge of the game and business acumen will ensure that we continue to realise our vision of being Australia's favourite sport," Peever said.
Henderson, who is a former first grade player in Western Australia Premier Cricket (WAPC), has been a Director of the WACA from 2013 to 2016 and Chairman in 2015-16. (ANI)

Sanju speaks on conversations with Sachin following T20WC win

Samson scripted a comeback for ages, as he overcame poor form and exclusion from the playing eleven to shine when everything was at stake. Having scored just 46 runs in five innings against NZ before this tournament, Samson lost his place in the team to Ishan Kishan. When a leftie-dominant top-order was struggling against off-spin, destiny handed Sanju a second chance and he grabbed it with every inch of life he had in his hands. Right from the virtual quarterfinal against West Indies to the title clash against New Zealand, Samson mesmerised one and all with his tidy strokeplay, timing and broke records to join legends like Virat Kohli, Shahid Afridi, etc. in the history books of the T20 World Cup.
