Former Indian cricketers express condolences on terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam

Former Indian cricketers expressed their condemnation and condolences over the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.Former Indian captain and head coach Anil Kumble took to his official Twitter account.

New Delhi [India], April 23 (ANI): Former Indian cricketers expressed their condolences over the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Former Indian captain and head coach Anil Kumble took to his official Twitter account, he said, "Heartbreaking to hear about the tragic attack in Pahalgam. Innocent lives lost to senseless violence. Praying for strength and peace for the affected families. Let's stand together against hate," Anil Kumble posted on his X handle.


Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman posted on his official Twitter account, "Extremely pained by the deadly attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover at the earliest and justice is brought soon."


Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also posted on his X handle, "Heartbroken by the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir today. I strongly condemn this cowardly act by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. India stands united with our brave Army, J&K Police, and Paramilitary forces in the fight against terrorism. Justice will prevail."


Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the families of the victims outside the Police Control Room in Srinagar. The Union Home Minister paid his tribute to the victims of the attack, which had left the Kashmir Valley and the nation in collective grief and deep mourning, by laying a wreath in a poignant ceremony in Srinagar.
Family members whose faces were etched with profound sorrow were seen pleading with the Home Minister, as they quivered with grief, expressing the depth of their pain following the tragic loss of their loved ones in the attack.
In New Delhi, moments after his arrival from Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a briefing with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and other officials, in view of the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam.
Meanwhile, in solidarity with the victims' families and condemnation of the attack, political parties as well as traders' unions in the region today have collectively called for a complete shutdown in the Kashmir valley. (ANI)
