Ex-PCB chief chides board over mishandling of Hafeez's case

Karachi [Pakistan], Nov 17 (ANI): Former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Zaka Ashraf on Friday expressed suspicion on England's Loughborough University's test report, which led to the suspension of all-rounder Muhammad Hafeez for his illegal bowling action.

Hafeez has been suspended for the third time by the International Cricket Council (ICC) with immediate effect for his illegal bowling action after failing in a biomechanics test in England.

According to Pakistan newspaper the Dawn, Zaka said the Pakistan off-spinner should have either gone to South Africa or Australia for his bowling action test as countries like England and India have biased attitude against Pakistan players.

Zaka, 65, also lashed out at the PCB and said the board's mishandling of players have ruined many cricketers' careers.

He added that had the PCB been active and used its own bio-mechanic lab at a private university in Lahore, such cases would have been curbed at the early stages itself. (ANI)
