Harare [Zimbabwe], July 4 (ANI): Australian skipper Aaron Finch has said that the team enjoyed their time in England despite losing the six-match series 0-6 against the hosts.
The 24-year-old credited the England team for their dominating performance in the series and admitted that Australian squad was a bit inexperienced in front of the quality Eoin Morgan-led side.
"We enjoyed our trip to the UK. The results were horrendous for us, obviously, as we lost all six games. But I can't question how we trained or the intensity we trained at," ESPNcricinfo quoted Finch, as saying.
"When you get a bit of an inexperienced group together and you get on the back foot early in a series like that, you're chasing your tail for a long time and England just didn't let up. They didn't give us a sniff to get back into the series at all. That's just the quality side they are at the moment," he added.
The 31-year-old, who played a smashing knock of 172 off 76 balls in the third T20I against Zimbabwe, notched up the highest individual score in the shortest format of the cricket for the second time.
Reflecting on his record-breaking inning, Aaron Finch said that it was his one of the best innings so far.
"Satisfying. It's something that I'll look back on when I've finished playing and be really proud of. Any time you get a few out of the middle like that it's always nice. We started off quite well, and I just got on a little bit of a roll there. It was nice to get a few away," Finch said.
The left-hand batsman said that coming to Zimbabwe has made a lot of difference for the team in terms of environment and they have come here with a lot of confidence.
Australia are playing Zimbabwe and Pakistan in the ongoing seven-match T20I tri-series and have won all the two matches they played so far. (ANI)
