England's Ashes crisis deepens as Duckett suspended post bar incident

London [U.K], December 9 (ANI): England's Ashes tour has been hit with a fresh crisis as Northamptonshire batsman Ben Duckett has been provisionally suspended following a new incident in a Perth bar, thus putting him out of the two-day tour match that began on Saturday.

The 23-year-old was set to open for the England Lions team in the tour match against Cricket Australia XI while senior players of the Joe Root-led side are taking a break ahead of the third Ashes Test.

However, Duckett stood down from the squad following a late night 'drinking' incident that reportedly took place in a Perth club and he is now facing an internal disciplinary hearing.

Though the details of the incident still remain hazy at the moment, it is expected to have taken place during the early hours of Friday morning with no member of the public involved.

As a result, Duckett's place in the England side for the warm-up game was taken by Joe Clarke of Worcestershire, the Guardian reported.

The incident has come at a time when England have already been facing scrutiny for mishaps that has recently been occurred away from the ground.

Recently, wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow head-butted Australian Test opener Cameron Bancroft in a Perth bar during the tourists' first night on tour while all-rounder Ben Stokes missing the touring Ashes party owing to a bar brawl in Bristol.(ANI)
