CoA takes no decision on World Cup Indo-Pak match, says talking to govt
New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI) The Committee of Administrators (COA), which governs cricket in India, on Friday took no decision on whether India should play against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup and made it clear that the matter will be decided in consultation with the government.

New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI) The Committee of Administrators (COA), which governs cricket in India, on Friday took no decision on whether India should play against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup and made it clear that the matter will be decided in consultation with the government.
The Committee, which met here, however, decided to write to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to state that in future, the world cricket body, should sever ties with countries backing terror.
“No decision was taken on the June 16 (World Cup) match (between India and Pakistan),” CoA Chairman Vinod Rai said after the meeting.
Making it clear that the decision will lie with the government, he said, “We are in talks with the government and June 16 is far away.”
The two-member Supreme Court-appointed CoA , which also includes former cricketer Diana Edulji as its member, has been divided on whether India should play the World Cup match against Pakistan in the wake of ghastly Pulwama terror attack.
“We are expressing two concerns to the ICC... We will ask for more protection for players during the ICC World Cup,” Rai said.
About other decision taken by the Committee, he said there will be no inaugural IPL function this year and the money budgeted for that will go the families of the martyrs. (ANI)
