Pakistan's head coach Mickey Arthur

Karachi [Pakistan], Mar 09 (ANI): Pakistan head coach believes that the batsman will play the supporting role and the bowlers will help in setting up the World Cup for Pakistan.
"I am comfortable with the batting we have in place and it is going to do one hell of a job for us but if we have to be brutally honest, our bowlers are going to be the ones who [can] set up a win for Pakistan at the World Cup," Dawn quoted Mickey Arthur as saying.
"Our bowling is going to win us the World Cup while our batsmen are going to support the bowlers in this campaign," Arthur said.
Pakistan have had many batting struggles, failing to be consistent. The World Cup will be played in England which will make it tough for stroke-making for the batsman.
However, Arthur is approaching the situation realistically and he believes his batsman can step up to the challenge.
"We have got to be aggressive with the way we go, we have got to look to strike, look to take wickets and with that our batting will [gradually] grow,” Arthur added.
Pakistan named their squad for the ODI series against Australia in which the team has decided to rest their six key players including the captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.
"With so many of our [main] players not playing it is a wonderful opportunity to have a look at our bench strength. We are looking for a guy who can come in at number six and take the game on and finish games,” said Arthur.
Pakistan would look to put up an impressive show in the five-match ODI series against Australia at UAE.

T20WC: Pakistan fail to seal semis spot despite 5 run win over SL

With this loss, Sri Lanka, who had a fine group stage with three wins and a loss, ended their Super Eight stage without a win. On the other hand, even though Pakistan won, they could not restrict Sri Lanka to 147 or fewer runs, thus unable to climb over New Zealand's net-run-rate and failing to seal their semifinal spot. The first semifinal between New Zealand and 2024 T20 WC runners-up South Africa for March 4 has been sealed and will take place at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.
