Melbourne [Australia], May 7 (ANI): Dr Bob Every AO has resigned from his position in the Cricket Australia (CA), after serving the board for almost three years.
Confirming the news, CA chairman David Peever paid tribute to Every for his valuable contribution to the board.
"Bob served on the MOU sub-committee for the most recent negotiations with the Australian Cricketers' Association, CA's Audit and Risk Committee and was an active contributor to Board discussions. On behalf of Cricket Australia and Australian cricket, I thank him for his service and wish him well for the future," cricket.com.au quoted Peever, as saying.
Every's three-year stint with the CA board was due to finish in October this year, but he has decided to stepped down from his position five months before his contract ends.
Dr Every's resignation comes in the same week in which Justin Langer has replaced Darren Lehmann, who announced his resignation as head coach of Australia in the aftermath of the massive ball-tampering scandal that sent shock waves through the sporting world.
It should be noted that the nominations process for Directors, whose contracts is due to end in 2018, has already begun, with appointments of new board members are expected to be finalised at the next Annual General Meeting later this year.(ANI)
