New Delhi [India], August 21 (ANI): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday registered its new constitution with the Tamil Nadu Registrar of Societies at Chennai, as directed by the Supreme Court in its recent verdict on Lodha panel recommendations.
Making the announcement, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) Chairman, Vinod Rai and member, Diana Edulji issued a joint statement, saying that they are committed to implement the directions of the apex court.
"We thank the Honorable Supreme Court for their directions and are pleased to start the process today by the submission of the new constitution of the BCCI with the Tamil Nadu Registrar of Societies at Chennai. We are committed to implement the Supreme Court directive in its entirety," the joint statement read.
The State Associations have to within 30 days conform to the judgment of the Honorable Supreme Court and report compliance, the statement added.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court, in its verdict on draft constitution submitted by BCCI, had granted four-week time to the board to register the modified constitution along with all the changes suggested.
Approving the draft constitution, with some modifications, the court had also granted full membership to Mumbai Cricket Association, Vidarbha, and Railways. (ANI)
