"The BCCI condoles the sad demise of AG Milkha Singh, a former Test player who passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017," the board said, in a statement.

Milkha, who belonged to a family of cricketers, was survived by wife, a son and daughter.

The former left-hander batsman had appeared in four Test matches and made his debut for India just after turning 18.

Born in Chennai, Milkha appeared in 88 first-class games for Madras (now Tamil Nadu) in Ranji Trophy. He scored 4,324 runs with eight centuries and 27 half-centuries.

He was also the first batsman to score a century in the Duleep Trophy when he struck 151 for South Zone in 1961-62. (ANI)
