Sydney [Australia], Jan 2 (ANI): Pakistan's Haris Rauf, who is playing for Melbourne Stars in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL), has sparked controversy with his throat-slicing celebration.
The pacer was seen in action against Sydney Thunder today and managed to take three wickets. However, after dismissing each batsman, the pacer was seen breaking into a throat-slicing celebration.
Rauf first indicated towards sliting his throat and followed it up by an aggressive body language towards the batsman.
BBL also shared the video, in which Rauf's celebration style can clearly be seen.

Australia's former rugby player Darryl Brohman also indicated his displeasure with the celebration style of Rauf.
"Not sure we need the throat-cutting gesture from Haris Rauf every time he takes a wicket. Clearly a very good bowler but the post wicket antics are over the top. Who's with me," Brohman tweeted.

"Great bowling hoping to see him at #T20worldcup .. but whats with our young players and stupid celebrations ?! Notice how @simadwasim got better after he stopped copying #cr7 keep up d great bowling #harisrauf #BBL2019," one fan pointed out.

"Haris Rauf is spectacular but he should change his celebration style. Throat-slashing celebration should have no place in a cricket ground. Someone needs to guide this young lad. #TeamGreen #BBL #harisrauf #bigbash #celebration #BBL09," another fan tweeted."#BBL09 I definitely think C.A. or the Stars might have a word with Haris Rauf about his wicket celebration at some point," a user said. The pacer Rauf has managed to take ten wickets from three matches in the ongoing BBL.
Earlier today, Melbourne Stars defeated Sydney Thunder by three wickets to move to the top of the table in BBL. (ANI)
