3 Hong Kong cricketers provisionally suspended

New Delhi [India], Oct 8 (ANI): Three Hong Kong players namely - Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad have been found guilty of breaching the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Anti-Corruption Code and have been provisionally suspended. While Irfan Ahmed will face nine charges, Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad are each charged under five counts.

New Delhi [India], Oct 8 (ANI): Three Hong Kong players namely - Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad have been found guilty of breaching the International Cricket Council's (ICC) Anti-Corruption Code and have been provisionally suspended. While Irfan Ahmed will face nine charges, Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad are each charged under five counts.
The allegations are related to "fixing or contriving or otherwise influencing improperly, or being a party to an effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly, the result, progress, conduct" of matches. Furthermore, failure to disclose full details of any approaches or invitations received to engage in conduct has also been counted as a breach.
Irfan Ahmed has been charged with Article 2.1.1, 2.4.2 of the 2012 Code in a Hong Kong-Scotland match played on January 13, 2014. In a Hong Kong - Canada match that was played on January 17, 2014, he was found guilty under Article 2.1.1, 2.1.3, Article 2.4.2 of the 2012 Code. He also breached Article 2.1.2 in a clash against Zimbabwe played on March 12, 2014. He broke the Article 2.1.3 and 2.4.4 of the 2014 Code during the ICC World T20 Qualifiers in July 2015. His most recent offence was breach of Article 2.1.3 of the 2014 Code in 2016 ICC World T20 matches.
Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad, both have been charged with Article 2.1.1 and Article 2.4.2 of the 2012 Code in Hong Kong- Scotland match that featured on January 13, 2014. The same charges have been levelled against the duo in Hong Kong - Canada match played on January 17, 2014.
While Nadeem has failed to comply with Article 2.1.3 of the 2014 Code in 2016 ICC World T20 matches, Haseeb Amjad has been found guilty under Article 2.1.3 of the 2012 Code in a Hong Kong- Canada match played on January 17, 2014. The players have 14 days to file their replies corresponding to the charges. (ANI)
