New Delhi [India], July 28 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Indresh Kumar praised Operation Sindoor, a military action taken by India against Pakistan-backed terrorists ahead of the debate on India's action against the Pahalgam terror attack in the Monsoon session of the Parliament.
Kumar stated that questioning the operation is akin to insulting the country and the army, urging the opposition to show respect.
Kumar said to ANI, "Operation Sindoor is the story of a successful army action against Pakistan and terrorism. Similarly, it is a success story of the Indian government teaching a lesson to them."
The government is expected to face questions about the scope and effectiveness of the operation. Debate on Operation Sindoor will be held for 16 hours in the Lok Sabha on Monday and for 16 hours in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
While taking a hit out at the opposition, he said, "If the opposition repeatedly questions it, then it is a kind of insult to the country and the army. The opposition should learn to respect the army and the country."
Lok Sabha on Monday is set to discuss key legislations, including a high-stakes special discussion on 'Operation Sindoor' India's military response to the Pahalgham terror attack.
After an opening week marked by adjournments, the lower house of Parliament is set to discuss the country's successful and decisive Operation Sindoor, as per the list of business notices issued by Lok Sabha.
The first week of the Monsoon session of Parliament was marked by major disruptions, including the surprise resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as Vice President. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to initiate the discussion on Operation Sindhoor in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
Sources said that Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and BJP MPs Anurag Thakur and Nishikant Dubey are also expected to participate in the discussion in the Lok Sabha.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to intervene in the discussion in the Lok Sabha. He may also intervene in the discussion in the Rajya Sabha.
According to the sources, a discussion on Operation Sindoor is scheduled to begin in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, with Rajnath Singh and S. Jaishankar among the ministers participating in the discussion.
TDP's Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu and GM Harish Balayogi are expected to participate in the discussion on Op Sindoor in the Lok Sabha. The sources said the party has been allotted 30 minutes. (ANI)
