New Delhi [India], July 30 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh on Wednesday strongly criticised US President Donald Trump for imposing 25 per cent tariffs claiming that the American leader insults India on a daily basis.
Addressing mediapersons in the national capital, Singh said, "... He is insulting India every day, apart from tariff threats; he has even threatened Apple against manufacturing iPhones in India. He has even gone on to say that he loves Pakistan and India should think about it. PM Narendra Modi should strongly oppose this move and make his next step clear."
The AAP leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should strongly oppose this move and make his next step clear.
US President Donald Trump today announced that India will pay a 25 per cent tariff and an additional penalty for trade deficit. The tariffs will be imposed starting August 1.
Trump also noted that New Delhi will have to pay an additional penalty due to its oil and military purchases from Russia in the face of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Later, the Congress party also launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that India's foreign policy has completely "failed."
Congress said the country is now paying the price for PM Modi's friendship with Trump.
In a post on X, the Congress said, "Trump has imposed a 25% tariff on India, along with a penalty. The country is paying the price for Narendra Modi's 'friendship.'" (ANI)
