"India responds with fury that is disciplined, deliberate and devastating," says BJD's Sasmit Patra in Rajya Sabha

New Delhi [India], July 30 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra on Wednesday praised India's strong response during Operation Sindoor, and said the country gave a clear message that while it does not seek war or glory, it will act swiftly and firmly if Indians are attacked.
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Patra, who was part of an all-party delegation that visited the UAE, Congo, Sierra Leone and Liberia, said India's action during the operation showed that when our people are attacked, India responds with a fury that is disciplined, deliberate and devastating.
"As a member of the all-party delegation that visited UAE, Congo, Sierra Leone and Liberia in the wake of Operation Sindoor, we had an excellent understanding and a fruitful all-party delegation wherever we went...We do not wage war, we do not seek glory, but when our people are attacked, India responds with a fury that is disciplined, deliberate and devastating. In 22 minutes, we proved that our silence is not weakness, it is readiness," Patra said.
Speaking earlier in the Upper House today, Union Minister JP Nadda accused the previous Congress-led UPA government of "inaction" over repeated terror strikes during its tenure.
Nadda said that despite repeated terror attacks from Pakistan, the Congress government continued with confidence-building measures. "While they kept firing bullets at us, we went ahead to offer them biryani," the minister said in Rajya Sabha during a special discussion on Operation Sindoor.
"...We need to understand the limits of their (then Congress govt) appeasement that after 2008 Jaipur bomb blasts by Indian Mujahideen, India and Pakistan agreed on a specific confidence-building measures...Woh hume goliyoon se bhunte rahe aur hum unko biryani khilane chale...They gave permission for a triple-entry permit to cross LoC..."
Nadda said no strong steps were taken after major attacks like the 2005 Delhi blasts, the 2006 Varanasi and Mumbai train bombings. He added that despite these incidents, trade and tourism with Pakistan continued. (ANI)
