Seniors interact with newcomer Arunachali students
By-Yeshi Chhonjom New Delhi [India], Sept 27 (ANI): Despite limited participation of students, Arunachal Pradesh fresher's meet 2016 was held at Arunachal House in Chanakyapuri here recently. Organised by the Arunachal Student's Union Delhi (ASUD), the fresher's meet provided a platform to seniors to interact with fresh lots coming from the state to the national capital. The event also offered an opportunity to the newcomers' to learn from their seniors about the do's and don'ts during their stay here. Despite lower footfall, the celebration was full of pomp. Pisa Tate, a fresher, told ANI, "I came to study in Delhi because of vast opportunities it provides. Delhi is the centre of India and usually people from across India come here. We can learn from each other and also represent our state." Chomina Beyong, a member of the organising team, said, "The event is the only way through which students from Arunachal studying in New Delhi can connect with one another. We celebrate it as a token of love and appreciation amongst ourselves. We always give a message to our fresher's to stay united among ourselves." Meanwhile, as the event progressed, Thupten Tsering, an artist from Arunachal's Tawang District, entertained attendants with his scintillating performance. Tsering, who has been in Delhi for over three years, told the fresher's to stay united. "I would to tell all my brothers and sisters that just feel like home here. Consider Delhi your home. Do not think that if you are in Delhi, you are away from home. This is the capital of our country," he added. Taba Doni, the president of the Arunachal Student's Union Delhi, suggested his juniors, "I want our students to know that Delhi is a place where we all must stay united. Whatever is the situation and whatever is the problem, we should never stay undivided."
