PAGIR organises archery tournament for differently abled in Leh

Leh (Ladakh) [India], Dec. 15 (ANI): With an aim to preserve a traditional sport and to motivate especially abled people, People's Action Group for Inclusion and Rights (PAGIR), organised the Archery Tournament 2016 at Indus Hotel ground on Thursday.

PAGIR organises archery tournament for differently abled in Leh
Leh (Ladakh) [India], Dec. 15 (ANI): With an aim to preserve a traditional sport and to motivate especially abled people, People's Action Group for Inclusion and Rights (PAGIR), organised the Archery Tournament 2016 at Indus Hotel ground on Thursday. A total of 96 archers from 24 teams belonging to different parts of the Leh District participated in the tournament Addressing the gathering, President of PAGIR, Mohammed Iqbal said, "Our main objective is to build on the potential of disabled people, bring them into the mainstream and include them in the development agendas of the society." "PAGIR also works for preserving environment and promote livelihoods of communities engaged in waste management," he added. SWO Rigzen Spalgon highly appreciated the efforts of PAGIR to promote responsibility of people towards especially abled people through their various initiatives. Nominated Councillor Mohd Nasir donated Rs 50,000 and Rinchen Lhamo donated a sum of 1 lakh from their CCDF fund to promote PAGIR. LBA Vice President PT Kunzang, who was the Chief Guest of the occasion said, "PAGIR playing a great role in preserving of our ancient Archery game for having noble ideas to unite people. We assured to support PAGIR in all developing steps The winner of the tournament was Ladakh Scouts Red with 268 points and runner-up team was The Archer Saboo with 240 points. (ANI)
