Kerala: 12-year-old boy becomes 'Youngest Father'
Kochi (Kerala) [India], Mar 24 (ANI): A shocking incident has come to light wherein it has been found that a 12-year-old boy has become the youngest father. The 16-year-old mother gave birth to a baby girl in November, 2016 at a private hospital in Ernakulam, Kerala. The girl claimed that the 12-year-old is the father, after which a DNA test was conducted that ascertained her claims. Circle Inspector Jayakrishnan said, "A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) against the boy whose DNA test confirmed the fatherhood of a 16-year-old girl. The boy was then arrested and also followed a juvenile proceeding." "Yesterday the DNA test result scientifically proved that the boy is the father of the child and we are on the way to give the charge sheet under POSCO and legal procedures will begin, he added. The boy and the 16-year old girl are relatives. Meanwhile, the families of the children and the hospital authorities are tight-lipped over the issue. (ANI)
