Kashmir: Mountain biking race organised to promote adventure tourism
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Dec. 21 (ANI): Kashmir is not only an ideal honeymoon destination, but also a hub for adventure sports such as mountain biking. Despite the prevailing cold weather, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir recently organised a mountain bike race with the aim of promoting adventure tourism in the valley. Almost every year, Kashmir receives lakhs of tourists from different parts of the world. So, for the promotion of adventure tourism and sports, 25 well trained cyclists of valley participated in the mountain bike race organised by the state government's Department of Tourism in collaboration with adventure tour operators. Participants said such events should be organised more frequently. Tourism Commissioner Farooq Shah flagged off the event from Vivanta by Taj. (ANI)
