Jammu: SSB campaign ends with final match

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Mar.2 (ANI): The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jammu and Kashmir sector's "Catch them young let us play football" campaign concluded today at mini stadium parade ground, Jammu with final matches of 12-day-long football tournament.

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], Mar.2 (ANI): The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jammu and Kashmir sector's "Catch them young let us play football" campaign concluded today at mini stadium parade ground, Jammu with final matches of 12-day-long football tournament. S. S. Deswal, Additional. Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal was the chief guest on the occasion of the final match of the tournament which was played between Young Rovers Football Club and Param Football Club. A. K. Singh, Inspector General (Ops & Int.) SSB, DIsG SSB of Jammu and Srinagar Sectors, Officers of other CAPF, prominent sports personalities of the region and local people were present to witness the final match of the tournament. The young Rovers Football Club won the trophy by 1-0 defeating Param Football Club Jammu. The winning team was awarded Rs. 60, 000 and runners up with Rs. 40, 000 along with kits and certificates. Speaking at the event, Deswal said, "The aim of organising this football tournament across various districts of Jammu and Kashmir was to reach out the communities, to encourage people's participation, sharpen the sporting skills and techniques of the footballers. Also provide positive recreational activities for youth, keep them in good physique, inculcate and develop team spirit and healthy competition among players". "Catch them young, let us play football" is a campaign with the aim to streamline the youth energy in the positive and national building activities. The campaign was well taken by the youth of Ramban, Udhampur, Jammu, Samba, Reasi and Kathua and 40 football teams and clubs participated in it. (ANI)
