Rajouri (J&K) [India], Nov. 28 (ANI): A musical concert programme was organised at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art and Cultural and Languages (JKAACL) to promote the art and culture of Jammu and Kashmir in Rajouri district. Various eminent singers from across the state, including Waheed Jeelani and Gulzar Ganai performed for university students, faculty and staff. Professor Javed Mussart was the chief guest. It was for the first time such programme was organised at the university. A student from the university, Mohd Shoket, said, "We are thankful to the cultural academies who were involved in organising this successful event. Such events should keep on happening. It is a good thing that such event is being held in such remote areas." He said that the new generation must know about their culture and heritage, adding that such events play a significant role in promoting peace. Javed Rahi, an officer attached with the JKAACL, said, "The aim of organising such an event on such a large scale is to spread the message of love, brotherhood and peace. It is also aimed at protecting our cultural heritage." He said the event connected hearts and connected Kashmir with India. Chief guest Professor Javed Mussart said this program had been in the pipeline for long and such events would continue to be organised by the academy in the future as well. Mussart said he was thankful to the academy for presenting Kashmir's culture and believed that it is a very good development that students apart from studying are also taking part in such events.
