Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) [India], January 25 (ANI): Comparing the styles of governance of her father YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) and brother Jagan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress chief YS Sharmila Reddy on Thursday said that YSR always believed in living among the people while the Andhra Chief Minister has a "dictatorial style".
At a meeting of the Kakinada District Congress Party, PCC chief YS Sharmila Reddy, daughter of late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, addressed party members and said that Andhra Pradesh is lacking development due to poor leaderships of both former Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu and Jagan Reddy.
Expressing disappointment with the State government, she said, "Jagan Mohan Reddy is deviating from the principles of good governance set by YSR."
Highlighting the Polavaram project, Sharmila praised YSR's vision and criticized subsequent governments for neglecting the project. She lamented the lack of implementation of YSR's schemes and alleged a disregard for job notifications, particularly in the education sector.
"YSR's approach to governance was characterized by living among the people, and Jagan perceives a dictatorial style. The current administration is selling existing assets and tarnishing the name of YSR," Sharmila said.
She emphasized that joining Congress was not a personal decision but a commitment to address the injustices faced by the people.
"This decision was made for the greater good of the people," she said.
YS Sharmila joined the Congress earlier this month. She also merged her party, the YSR Telangana Party, into Congress. The Congress on Tuesday appointed YS Sharmila Reddy, sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, as president of the party in the poll-bound state. (ANI)
