New Delhi [India], September 4 (ANI): Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav hit back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday and said that the CM should have known the full form of the abbreviation 'DNA' before making any accusation following Adityanath's statement alleging that lawlessness was in the DNA of the Samajwadi Party.
In a post on social media platform X, Yadav said, "You should have known the full form before making the accusation. DNA = Deoxyribonucleic acid... Even if I knew, I would not have been able to say it."
He further took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that people who spend billions to recruit MPs and MLAs should speak less.
"People who spend billions of rupees to recruit MPs and MLAs, the less they speak, the more respect they will get. Only those who talk a lot have to listen a lot," he added.
On Tuesday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath attacked the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav and alleged that both of them were involved in collecting "extortion" money for every government job in the state during their rule.
The UP CM further alleged that lawlessness was in the DNA of the Samajwadi Party and said that there have been no riots in the state since his government was formed in 2017.
"Anarchy and hooliganism are a part of their DNA. Their model is not of development, they loot the development works. Their work is what a Samajwadi leader did with a daughter in Ayodhya... The incident of Kannauj and Nawab Brand is the real face of the Samajwadi Party," he said.
The charge follows reports of the DNA sample of former Samajwadi Party leader Nawab Singh Yadav, matching those of an alleged rape victim in Kannauj. The SP leader was arrested last month for allegedly raping a minor girl in Kannauj district
Nawab Yadav was arrested on August 12 after being accused of attempting to rape a minor at Chandan Singh Memorial Degree College in Kannauj on August 11.
Union Minister BL Verma also tore into the SP chief saying Akhilesh was unale to undesrtand the pain of the victim.
"Akhilesh Yadav is giving clean chit to West Bengal government. The way criminal activities are happening in West Bengal, the way the incident happened with the junior doctor, the whole country is saddened by it, everyone is in pain but Akhilesh Yadav does not take even that incident seriously... If he has to see law and order situation, then he should look at Uttar Pradesh," Verma said. (ANI)
