Kendrapara (Odisha) [India], April 28 (ANI): Odisha is being run by 'PANN' (Pandian, Amit Shah, PM Narendra Modi and Naveen Patnaik)," said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, claiming that Bharatiya Janata Party and Biju Janata Dal have "married" each other in the state.
Last October, former IAS officer and Odisha CM Patnaik's close aide V K Pandian was appointed Chairman 5T (Transformational Initiatives) with the rank of cabinet minister.
Wayanad MP said, "You (people) have eaten enough PANN, now it is the time for the Congress government in Odisha."
"BJP-BJD have married each other in Odisha. They have given PANN to everyone. PANN here means (V K)Pandian, Amit Shah, Narendra Modi and Naveen Patnaik. PM Modi runs government for 22-25 people, in a similar manner Naveen Patnaik also runs for a few selected people. All profit goes to these few selected people. These people have stolen all your wealth, mining scam happened here, and the lands of farmers have been grabbed. We will return all your wealth looted by these parties once we form government in Delhi," Rahul Gandhi said at an election rally in Kendrapara.
Similarly, the BJP had "married" to BRS in Telangana, and the result was, the BRS lost and Congress formed the government.
"In Telangana, BJP and BRS got married. Every day there was some drama. The Congress party showed in Telangana that BJP and BRS are one and if anyone is doing the work of the opposition then it is the Congress party. We gave 5 guarantees which gave money directly to the poor people of Telangana in their bank accounts. The leaders of BRS gave full benefit to the selected people. We went there and said that BRS gave the same amount of money to the rich people of Telangana which the Congress party will give to the poor people of Telangana. The result was BRS lost and Congress won the Assembly elections and formed the government," he said.
Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held simultaneously in Odisha in four phases, starting from Phase One on May 13, Phase Two on May 20, Phase Three on May 25 and the final Phase on June 1. The results will be announced on June 4.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) got the maximum number of seats (12), followed by the BJP (8) and the Congress just one. (ANI)
