Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 29 (ANI): BJP spokesperson Shaina NC, after filing her nomination from the Mumbadevi constituency on Tuesday said that she has worked in South Mumbai and the city is her "Karmabhoomi" and "Janmabhoomi".
Shaina resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined Shiv Sena after being offered a ticket by Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena from the Mumbadevi seat, which is a part of the Mumbai Lok Sabha seat.
Notably, Congress' Amin Patel has been representing the seat since 2009.
Taking a dig at sitting MLA Patel, Shaina NC said, "We will work under the leadership of Mahayuti. PM Modi is popular across the country but the work done by Mahayuti. I am proud that our former MLA Rajpurohit ji, current MLA Manisha Kayande and leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena are present here because everyone has one goal - to make Mumbadevi an ideal constituency. Unfortunately, you elected an MLA three times. Still, the issues are the same...How would you progress if you don't think out of the box? You elected a 'neta' three times, elect a 'netri' once."
"I am a Mumbai girl; Mumbai is my 'mayanagri'. It is my 'karmabhoomi' and 'janmabhoomi'. I have worked in South Mumbai," Shaina NC added.
On Monday, Shiv Sena released the list of 15 candidates for the assembly polls, in which Shaina NC was fielded from Mumbadevi constituency.
Shaina will be contesting against incumbent Congress' MLA Amin Patel who also filed his nomination on Tuesday.
The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. (ANI)
