Akhilesh Yadav speaking to media in Kannauj on Saturday

Kannauj (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan 2 (ANI): Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday took a dig at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that his successor being a ‘sage doesn’t know about laptop hence can’t give it to youth’.
In an apparent reference to the laptop distribution scheme of the past Samajwadi party government, Yadav said: “We have distributed a large number of laptops in Kannauj, go and see in any house, if they had given any bigger laptop, they should tell us. Our chief minister is a sage, he doesn’t know what a laptop is, how would he give it?”
Speaking further on the newly announced Ganga expressway, “Has Ganga been cleaned? It is because they did not clean it they are trying to divert the attention, hence has announced this Ganga Expressway. It is an old project of BSP which was on papers since long and BJP has brought back that file after cleaning the dust over it and has said that they will construct it.”
Launching a scathing attack on the central government, he blamed it for not doing enough for the youth and said, “BJP should accept that they have cheated people and have presented false statistics. They have talked about giving 15 Lakh rupees, they had talked about employment, but if BJP government had worked well, the youth would have got jobs and employment. The youth has been given the mobile to see the dreams but hasn’t been shown a path to fulfil those dreams.”
On January 29, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav had asserted that the target for 2019 is very clear for his party and it is "removing BJP and raising hopes".
Yadav took to micro-blogging website Twitter and wrote, “‏The target for 2019 is very clear. Remove BJP, raise hope. After winning the elections we will among ourselves decide upon all the issues including roster, reservations, crop prices, income guarantee among others.” (ANI)
