Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan float 'Swaraj India' party, to contest Delhi civic polls
New Delhi [India], Oct. 2 (ANI): Expelled Aam Aadmi Party members Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan on Sunday launched a new political outfit 'Swaraj India' focusing on Delhi civic polls. Speaking at the launching ceremony here, Swaraj Abhiyan's national convener Prashant Bhushan said the party will also rope in those youngsters who felt "betrayed" by AAP and are willing to spend their time to transform India. "When we got separated from AAP and formed Swaraj Abhiyan, we thought of forming a party and focused exclusively on those youngsters who were betrayed by the AAP and are willing to do anything," Bhushan said. He said unlike the AAP, which is behaving like "any other mainstream party", Swaraj India will strive to become "a true vehicle of alternative politics". Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav said there is a familiar story in India, where an organsitation is formed and says that they are working for socio-economic cause and to serve the nation. And then six months after they say that there is pressure from people and decide to form a party. "Swaraj Abhiyan, from the day one, has stated that it is not an NGO, we are here to create an alternative politics and political system and we said that we are preparing for the same. So we never said that we are an apolitical organization," Yadav said. Yadav claimed that Swaraj India is the only party which would come under the ambit of RTI and resolves to crack No Whip on Legislators, but prevents Horse Trading. Yadav further said that the party would select candidates through 'transparent and innovative' process based on participative democracy. (ANI)
