BS Yediyurappa

Hubli (Karnataka) [India], Oct 26 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has criticised senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah over his remarks on Veer Savarkar and said that the former Karnataka Chief Minister does not know "ABCD" of Savarkar.
"After becoming Leader of Opposition, Siddaramaiah is talking loose. He spoke about Veer Savarkar. He does not know ABCD about him. He will get to know about him something if he goes to Andaman. There he will get knowledge about what he (Savarkar) had experienced in jail," Yediyurappa said here.
"Secondly, a person, who had been the Chief Minister, speaking lightly and in singularly about Speaker does not shows respect to him. He should apologize to the people of the state. And in Assembly also by moving privilege motion, he spoke singularly. It is first of its kind in the history of the nation. At least now he should hold his tongue, people will teach him a lesson," he added.
Yediyurappa further stated that there no shortage of funds for flood relief works.
Siddaramaiah had on October 18 slammed the BJP for its move to prop up Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar for the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
"BJP is planning to confer the Bharat Ratna on Savarkar, who is accused of conspiring to kill Mahatma Gandhi. BJP might also honour Godse with the Bharat Ratna award. I don't know what is happening in this country," said Siddaramaiah, while speaking at the conference of party workers.
"Veer Savarkar was the president of the Hindu Mahasabha. He is one of the co-conspirators involved in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. He is one of the accused in the case. It was, later, reported that no evidence was found but that is what happens in 99 per cent cases," he added. (ANI)
