Kalaburagi (Karnataka) [India], April 29 (ANI): Coming hard on Prime Minister Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said on Monday that they do not look at the welfare of the public but at their politics only.
Addressing a public meeting here today, Priyanka said that in the last 10 years, "truth" has disappeared from the politics of the country.
"Today, the reality of the country is changing. The politics that have taken place in the last 10 years are the politics of pride, fame, self-respect and power. There is no place for truth in it. From the Prime Minister to the MPs, they have forgotten that they have to face the public. Your MP never visits you or stays here. They have done nothing for you in the last five years. on the other hand, you have your struggles. Women take on the burden of the entire society but this government doesn't listen to you (women). The MPs here, despite having a government at the centre, raised slogans that water would come to the houses through taps, but it did not happen," she said.
"Ye janta ki bhalayi nahi, apni satta dekhte hai," Priyanka added.
Further, the Congress leader pointed out that unemployed youths from Karnataka migrate to Delhi and work as labourers out of compulsion, as the Narendra Modi-led government has not done anything to generate employment.
"Today there is the highest unemployment in the country in 45 years. Some did PhDs, MScs, and BAs, but no one got employment. There is migration from here to Delhi and one has to work as a labourer in construction. Instead of creating employment, the Narendra Modi government made a scheme like Agniveer in which they made the recruitment of the army for 4-5 years," Priyanka said.
She also said that through GST and demonetization, such policies were made that everyone's small businesses are almost going to be shut down.
"In these 10 years, Narendra Modi ji has not done a single work to generate employment. He distributed subsidiaries of government PSUs to his rich friends. All the airports, ports and big government institutions were distributed. The government has broke the backs of farmers by implementing GST on all agricultural goods," she added. (ANI)
