"Will work not just for development of Karnataka, but entire country": HD Kumaraswamy

JDS MP and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday said that he will work not just for the development of Karnataka, but the entire country.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 14 (ANI): Janata Dal (Secular) MP and Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Friday said that he will work not just for the development of Karnataka, but for the entire country.
While speaking to the media during a roadshow in Bengaluru, Kumaraswamy said, "Today, voluntarily, people came to receive me with a lot of affection. My strength is our people. I will work not just for the development of Karnataka, but the entire country... The people of Karnataka have (given a befitting) reply to Congress."
This is Kumaraswamy's first roadshow in Bengaluru after he was sworn in as Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, and the Ministry of Steel.
Speaking on Union Minister HD Kumaraswany's first visit to Karnataka after being sworn in as Union Minister, JD(S) Youth Wing President Nikhil Kumaraswamy said that everyone had gathered in large numbers to meet him.
"After HD Kumaraswamy became the Union Minister, everybody has gathered in huge numbers to meet him...PM Modi has given one of the challenging portfolios to him," he told ANI.
HD Kumaraswamy is a two-time Chief Minister of Karnataka. He served as the Karnataka Chief Minister from 2006-7 and then from 2018-19. He is currently serving as the president of JD (S).
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha election, the BJP won 17 seats, the Congress won 9 and Janata Dal (Secular), who contested as an ally with the BJP in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), won two seats.
This time, the BJP and JD(S) contested the Lok Sabha elections together, with the former fighting 25 out of 28 seats in the state and the latter contesting three seats.
HD Kumaraswamy won from the Mandya Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha election with a margin of 284620 votes. (ANI)
