Will grant medical visa in pending bonafide cases: Swaraj assures Pakistan

New Delhi [India], August 15 (ANI): In a special gesture on the occasion of India's 71st Independence Day, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday announced that the Ministry will grant medical visa in all bonafide cases pending with them. A Pakistani woman named Faiza Tanveer had requested Swaraj to grant her a medical visa by saying that she should be given help as India is about to celebrate its 70th Independence Day. "Ma'am you are mother for me. Please grant me visa on the occasion of India's 70th Independence Day. Please help me thankyou," Faiza Tanveer said in a tweet. The External Affairs Minister conveyed the decision of granting the medical visa to her and tweeted, "Thanks for your greetings on India's Independence day. We are giving you the visa for your treatment in India." On June 13, a four-month-old infant, Rohaan, who was slated to come to India for medical treatment banking on the assurance by Swaraj, arrived in Noida and will undergo treatment at Jaypee Hospital in the national capital. Rohaan, who has a hole in his heart, was referred to the multi-speciality hospital for treatment. However, in the backdrop of cross-border tension between India and Pakistan, his parents were unable to get medical visa for their child's treatment in India. (ANI)
