"Will gift more seats to PM Modi from West Bengal": Sukanta Majumdar on his candidature for LS polls

After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced to repeat his candidature from the Balurghat constituency of West Bengal for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sukanta Majumdar on Satuday expressed confidence that the selected candidates would gift more seats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], March 2 (ANI): After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced to repeat his candidature from the Balurghat constituency of West Bengal for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sukanta Majumdar on Satuday expressed confidence that the selected candidates would gift more seats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"In the 20 seats that have been announced, there are leaders from all levels of society. All BJP workers will contest the elections together and will gift more seats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from here (West Bengal) than before," Majumdar said while speaking to ANI.
Majumdar currently represents the Balurghat constituency.
Of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, the BJP has declared names on 36 seats.
The party currently holds 18 seats in the state, while the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has 22 parliamentary seats.
Meanwhile, after the announcement of his candidature from the Baharampur constituency, BJP leader Nirmal Kumar Saha said, "I am feeling very good about it... This is a battlefield and I have to fight like a soldier... I will go to each and every house with PM Modi's message of Viksit Bharat..."
BJP has decided to drop its sitting MP of the Baharampur constituency, Krishna Juardar Arya.
The first list of candidates include 34 ministers from both the Union and state levels, along with the name of the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The announced names included those for 51 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 20 in West Bengal and five in Delhi. 28 women, and 47 young leaders in BJP's first list of Lok Sabha candidates for 16 States and Union Territories.
Union ministers whose names have been announced by the BJP in the first list of candidates include Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Bhupender Yadav, Mansukh Mandaviya, Sarbananda Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Arjun Ram Meghwal, G Kishan Reddy, Arjun Munda and Smriti Irani.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fight from Varanasi, Home Minister Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya from Porbandar, Sarbananda Sonowal from Dibrugarh. (ANI)
