Kaithal (Haryana) [India], September 9 (ANI): Congress MP Randeep Surjewala after addressing a rally in Haryana's Kaithal, said that the party will come to power in the State with a huge majority.
Addressing mediapersons in Kaithal on Sunday, Surjewala while highlighting the unfinished university and medical college in Kaithal said that once the Congress government is formed, they will conduct a probe with utmost priority regarding the matter.
Taking a jibe at the BJP's state government, Surjewala said that they could make only 10 rooms in 10 years but Congress will complete the construction of university and medical college within two to two and half years. He further emphasised the Congress government would "restore the past glory" of Kaithal in just one year.
Surjewala said, "In this city (Kaithal) when the decision was taken that a university and medical college would be built here, so I can say that once Congress government is formed with the blessings of people, the first thing we will do is that we will gather all the documents and conduct a probe with priority. They (BJP) could only make 10 rooms in 10 years, but I believe we will build the medical college within 2-2.5 years, we will finish the construction of the medical college. We will work on all the pending projects. The damage that has been done in Kaithal, Congress will restore in its first year and will return to its past glory. We will all do things. I believe that the support we are getting in Kaithal; Congress will come to power with a huge majority."
Congress on Sunday released its second list of nine candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are still engaged in talks on possibilities of forming an alliance in the state for the forthcoming assembly elections.
Earlier, AAP MP Raghav Chadha refused to make any statement about the seat-sharing talks, however, he expressed both party's willingness to form an alliance.
Former wrestler Vinesh Phogat, along with wrestler Bajrang Punia, joined Congress on Friday, just one month ahead of the polls in the state.
The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5 and the last date for filing nominations is September 12. The counting of votes will be held on October 8.
In 2019 assembly polls, the BJP became the single-largest party with 40 seats, and Congress won 30 seats. (ANI)
