Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) [India], Apr 24 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti stirred controversy on Wednesday after he said that he would chop off the hands of persons who dare to raise fingers at BJP leaders.
"Our leaders are sitting on the dais. If anyone dares to raise their finger, we would chop their hands off. We are not nincompoops. We are not a group of stupid people," Satti said at an election rally here.
The Election Commission had barred Satti from campaigning for 48 hours last week for his offensive remark on Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
At another incident, the state BJP president had compared former minister Anil Sharma to a cow, saying that he is like a cow which could be milked by anyone, anywhere.
"He is a very decent man. He is like a cow which can be caught and milked anywhere."
Sharma is currently a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Mandi Assembly constituency and son of former Union Minister Sukh Ram.
His son Ashray Sharma is contesting from Mandi Lok Sabha seat on Congress ticket.
Satti accused media of presenting his statements out of context and told reporters present at the rally to not publish anything against him. (ANI)
