Patna (Bihar) [India], May 24 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and candidate from Hajipur Lok Sabha seat, Chirag Paswan, exuded confidence in his party's victory at achieving the 400 target mark after the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha polls and took a shot at the opposition, saying that people don't trust the opposition as they are accused of corruption and land grabbing.
Speaking to ANI, Chirag Paswan said, "The public must atleast believe that you (opposition) are doing something. How will the public have faith in them when when there are cases of corruption and land grabbing in exchange of jobs levelled against them. How would they place their trust when there are such examples in front of the public."
"Meanwhile on the other hand, there is a Prime Minister, sitting in Delhi and working for the cause of women. PM Modi built toilets for the women of the village, launches the Ujjawala Yojana, gave treatments worth Rs 5 lakh through Ayushman Bharat scheme and even today crores of people are receiving free rations under his leadership. The PM has been providing schemes like PM Awas Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi," said Paswan.
Paswan further said that when there are certain examples set by Prime Minister Modi, then why would the public place their belief on the other side where parties are facing charges on corruption, crime and land grabbing for jobs.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Paswan said, "These charges of corruption and crime is the reason why the public do not support them. 5 phases have concluded and tomorrow there will be phase 6. The NDA is running ahead in the polls as per the figures."
"We have already been touching over 300 seat mark in the five phases. Tomorrow after the sixth phase, NDA will gain more strength and after the seventh phase, we will have crossed and achieved our target of '400 Paar' mark," said the LJP leader.
Earlier today, while addressing a public rally in Bihar's Arrah, Union Home Minister proclaimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already secured 310 seats by the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections and criticized the opposition stating that they have been decimated.
"Modi ji has already won 310 seats till the 5th phase of Lok Sabha election. Lalu and Rahul have been completely wiped out. The arrogant alliance in Bihar will not even be able to open its account this time," Shah said.
Shah criticized the Congress and its allies for trying to intimidate the citizens with threats involving Pakistan and said that the BJP is not afraid of anything. Talking about PoJK Shah said that we will get it back at any cost.
Highlighting the abrogation of Article 370, Shah credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with ending terrorism in the region.
Shah attacked Lalu Prasad Yadav for perpetuating "jungle raj" and nepotism in Bihar stating that he had no place for the backward classes or the Yadavs.
Elections in Bihar are contested in all seven phases. With 40 Lok Sabha constituencies, the fourth highest among all States and Union Territories, Bihar holds a crucial position in shaping Indian politics.
RJD from the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), the opposition coalition in Bihar, will contest 26 out of the state's 40 Lok Sabha seats. As part of the NDA, the BJP and JD (U) will contest for 17 and 16 seats, respectively. The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on June 4th. (ANI)
