Rewari (Haryana) [India], July 21 (ANI): Congress leader Deepender Hooda on Sunday participated in a roadshow under the 'Haryana Maange Hisab' campaign in Rewari district of Haryana.
Speaking to ANI, Deepender Hooda alleged that the deteriorating condition of Haryana is because of the BJP government and said, "If anyone is responsible for this bad condition of Haryana today, it is the BJP government. Congress workers are working hard and reaching every village with a report of the BJP's failure. I am reaching every assembly with this campaign. Through this 'Padayatra', we are demanding an answer from the government as to why the condition of Haryana has become so bad in 10 years, whether it is about employment, inflation, crime, or intoxication."
He further questioned that "Haryana Ki Das Saalon Mein Itni Durdasha Kyun."
On several BJP leaders countering the campaign and asking for Congress' account, Hooda stated, "They don't have to tell anything, as they haven't done any development in the past 10 years. They can only ask for Nehru Ji's and Congress' accounts."
Earlier on Friday, Congress MP Deepender Hooda accused the BJP government in Haryana of betraying people and expressed confidence in his party's victory in the state assembly election due later this year.
"BJP has betrayed the people of Haryana in the last 10 years. I think the Congress party will form the government in Haryana with a huge majority. People have made up their minds," Hooda told ANI.
When asked about whether Congress will ally with the Samajwadi Party for the Assembly election, he said that SP has no mass base in Haryana and Congress has no alliance with the party in the state.
"The Samajwadi Party has no mass base in Haryana. We have an alliance at the national level, but today we have no alliance with the Samajwadi Party at the state level," he said.
Hooda said Congress workers are campaigning hard in the state, making people aware of the BJP government's "failures" in the state. He said that the Congress is confident in its victory but does not have overconfidence.
Hooda said that in every section of society in the state, support for Congress has increased.
Haryana is one of the eight states that will be holding legislative assembly elections this year. Currently, the state is ruled by a coalition government formed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). The Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 are expected to take place on or before October 2024, as the current Assembly's tenure is set to end on November 3 this year. However, the election schedule is yet to be announced. (ANI)
